Fall Colors

Absolutely fabulous weather this weekend - must have been in the upper 70's today.  The fall colors are in just beautiful.  We took a drive up the north shore to the little town of Two Harbors and went to a little cafe and had some delicious breakfast.

Mexican Train Hangover

Stayed up way past my bed time playing the riviting domino's game of mexican train.  Didn't get to bed till after 11:30....  My younger 20's self would be so embarrased and shocked to look at current almost 30 me.  Not only is my usual bedtime 9:00pm, I seldom sleep past 7am because my little alarm clock - who sometimes goes by the name of c-man - usually is up by 6:30am....

My sweet in-laws were up this week.  We were able to do some "touristy" type things this week.  We went to the split rock lighthouse.  Took the scenic train ride to Lester Park.  It was a beautiful week for it and we really enjoyed our time with them.

They also brought this beautiful toy box that Grandpa M made for C-Man.  It is absolutely beautiful - made out of oak.

Labor Day Weekend

Not planning on doing much laboring this labor day weekend!  :)  My in-laws are coming this next week, so I'm planning working hard this weekend on getting the house up to snuff and then taking labor day to sleep, eat and be merry.

My favorite toddler and I were eating raspberries this morning for breakfast.  He quickly discovered that those red berries fit perfectly on his finger tips and he started turning his fingers tips into swollen raspberry shaped mutant phalanges. He would point at me with that disgusting red oozing finger before deciding that this toddler alien not only like to point his repulsing finger at me but after waiving it about, he decided that his newly formed mutant fingers were delicious to eat as well.

Mochacycles

Such a beautiful August day.  Trying to catch up on laundry and get the house clean.  I always feel like I'm wasting away a beautiful day when I spend it inside doing this kind of monotonous stuff - it just never seems like we have the time to do much else except catch up on the weekends.

Made me giggle today, there was a loud rumble outside as a group of motorcycles passed through, and my son, in his excited toddler way, started exclaiming that there were trucks outside.  I gently corrected him that they were called "Motorcycles" and he got even more excited and exclaimed "MOCHACYCLES!!!  - our cat's name is "Mocha".  :)
